Play With Me

A cheerful pregnant woman on holiday with her husband and child encounters violence that lead to her demise.

A brutal assault changes Marieke's life. She leaves her familiar city rhythms for the solitude of a isolated house in the countryside. Her irrational fears on the frozen farm are a constant struggle. As spring's orchestra begins, her curiosity for new things that cover the cold rot of winter pull her out of the suffocating interior of her mind. Slowly she accepts the help of John, her neighbour.

When people literally explode from emotional overload, grief is just the beginning. A wildly surrealist charade in which a bereaved man, his friend and mother spiral through village life.

In the saliva-saturated Sputum world, an ugly class struggle is unfolding. The ruling Antique FAMLY depend on the saliva of the Bakelites to survive an invisible, buzzing, fungus cloud. With invasive, saliva milking machines and an addictive rot powder, their FAMLY enforces a status quo. But when the Bakelite rebellion led by Jimin Blyth gets help from aristocratic Antique deserter Kalta Crux, their future takes a new turn.

This expressionist portrait shows what lies hidden under the everyday lives of a young farmer and Dennis, who is addicted to amphetamine. The farmer feeds his pigs and Dennis surreptitiously feeds the monkey on his back. To avoid being dismissed, he helps where possible. For example, by holding the bleeding piglets when they are being neutered. At night, both men retire into a weird darkness. One plays with a curious installation, the other slips into a futuristic psychosis. Until a new day dawns.
