Adventures of Tarapunka and Shtepsel

At the height of the season, the famous football player leaves his team: he is a motorcycle designer and his presence at the factory is necessary. However, he does not give up football, but becomes the center of attack of the city team. His goalkeeper friend stubbornly regards the hero’s departure as a betrayal ...

It is 1920. After three years of the Russian Civil War, communist government is finally established in Odessa. Young Volodya Kozachenko, who dreams of being a detective like Sherlock Holmes, joins the newly forming Odessa Criminal Police.

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

A comedy about the trip of Tarapunki and Shtepselya (popular artists of the Soviet stage of the 60s) to a concert in Moscow. The heroes were not lucky: the thirteenth car, in which they were supposed to arrive in the capital, was forgotten to be attached to the train. During the war, Tarapunka meets Galya, but their paths diverge. The war ends, Tarapunka finds a job as a traffic cop in Kyiv, and his friend Shtepsel becomes a theater technician. Galya comes there to perform. The paths of the heroes cross again, and the concert introduces new comedians to the world.

The fire department is preparing for the New Year. Three activists of amateur performances decide to kidnap professional artists for a New Year's concert. A police captain investigates the kidnapping and listens to complaints from the “unkidnapped” artists.

Local comic duo from the Ukraine reach for the "big time" by entering a talent contest for the Moscow vaudeville circuit, must overcome the interference of an established, competition-shy duo who are helping judge the contest.

Aviation school. Future officers of the jet squadron are engaged in practical studies. When performing a training assignment, cadet Korenyuk violates flight discipline. The instructor pilot, considering Korenyuk to be a talented cadet, forgives him for this offense. A chemist by training, Alexandr Bochkin manages a Moscow dry-cleaning operation, but lives a very comfortable life, taking orders on the side for his speculative "private enterprise," run in conjunction with "Queen Margot". But when his old friend from the chemical institute, Yuri Lebedev arrives in Moscow from the Siberian city of Dalnegorsk, along with a traveling companion, Olga, Bochkin becomes uncomfortable with his job title.

Everyone has had to deal with boorishness, skulduggery, vulgarity and other vestiges of the past. And in order to better fight against vestiges today, it is necessary to study how they originated in the past. Tarapunka and Stetsel go to the Stone Age, to the Middle Ages to a knight's tournament, watching the first movie. And then they go to the future, where these vestiges no longer exist, but other problems have arisen.

Surrounded by a few party officials, Alexei Ivanov, a stakhanovist smelter, is decorated by Stalin. The "Little Father of the Peoples" takes this opportunity to invoke threats of war.... One day, war indeed breaks out. Bombs fall on the field where Alexei finds himself in the company of the schoolmistress Natacha, his fiancée. Alexei joins the Red Army and soon becomes a sergeant. Fighting rages and German troops advance. Natacha is arrested and deported. But the tide turns decisively with the German defeat at Stalingrad. Now the major offensive against Hitler can begin.

Terenty leaves the collective farm and goes to the city to study to become an agronomist. Marina works hard and looks forward to her husband's return. When her husband returns home, he reproaches his wife for being uneducated, asks for a divorce and leaves for the city. Left with her daughter, Marina devotes herself entirely to her studies and work.

Young musician Zhenya Kovalchuk falls in love with aerobatic pilot Yulia. The feeling is mutual, but Yulia cannot bring herself to reveal her feelings to Zhenya. Then the famous, but not yet elderly, Doctor of Science Kressovsky, who also hopes for Yulia's affection, stands in his way. The two suitors clash with their swords, and the duel ends with the doctor being wounded. The doctor intrigues, and Zhenya faces expulsion from the institute.

Fighter pilots Sergei and Nikolai test new planes together and try to beat each other in everything. Their rivalry began back in school, when both were passionate about the pretty classmate Varey. A tragic accident led Sergei to complete blindness. Varya, who has long loved him, has a difficult decision: to become a wife of a disabled person ...

Post-war reconstruction. New residents turn on their first television in their new apartment—a bulky bandura with a tiny screen. On the screen are Tarapunka and Shtepsel, who promise a real revue — more precisely, a tour of Kyiv. But how can you do a tour if you can't see anything from here, Tarapunka reasonably asks. They decide to climb the radio transmission tower.

A cheerful comedy about the life of the peripheral town of the late 30s. Despite its remoteness from the center, the town lives a busy life: new houses are being built, old streets are becoming cramped.
