Behind the Mosquito Net

It was a strange assumption, present at the time of the film’s production. Charma then helps Bagio realise his dream of building a village for artists by staging a big successful show. And Anita turns out to be the daughter of Bagio who has long been separated from his wife.

Hendro, Diana’s father, does not approve of her romance with Bije, and wants to marry Tony. Then Diana runs away with Bije to a small village where Diana’s aunt lives. This infuriates Hendro and he orders his men to capture Bije. Eventually, Bije and Diana return. When Diana is at home, she feels pain in her abdomen, and she is diagnosed of having a malignant cancer in her ulcer and won’t live long. Hendro even apologises to Bije’s father, but the latter refuses him. Bije even begs to his father to apologise to Hendro, but instead, Bije is thrown out of the house. Eventually Bije and Diana get married, but before the honeymoon ends, Diana passes away on Bije’s lap.

Then Rama finds Shinta as a singer in a nightclub. Without Lestari’s knowledge, they consummate their love. Then Rama accuses Shinta of adultery and refuses to acknowledge the baby as theirs.

Fatima

To save her daughter, Fatima agrees to be sent to Malaya to work as a sex slave for Japanese soldiers. There, she joins with the resistance to help destroy a Japanese base, but finds herself taken prisoner and turned into a sex slave a second time after being captured by Dutch Indies officers.
