Tales of Intransigence

This movie is about Deniz Gezmis and his two comrades. They were three revolutionary activist has been executed by military fascist junta in 1972.

Having just entered puberty, bride (Dilan Aksüt) had been forced to marry with groom (Ilyas Salman) whom returned to his hometown after doing many years of jail time and more than fifty years older than her. Sivan, at around the age of 20, is a native of the Southeastern region of Anatolia. His father Saho is the leader of the Givdanli tribe who stays distant both to the state and to the insurgents who are influent in the region, in order to secure its existence. One day, Sivan meets with the girl he loves, Berfin in a field around the village. The same day the field is burnt by saboteurs and the whole harvest of the village is wasted. The investigation initiated after the incident, changes Sivan's life drastically. Taken in for an interrogation, Sivan is caught between the police and the insurgents. Thinking his son's life is in peril, Saho assures Sivan's fleeing out of the country. Taken to Germany by the help of a illegal network, Sivan is located in a refugee camp. However, in this new land whose language is alien to him, Sivan will go through an ordeal which will add a new dimension to the residue of his experiences in Turkey.

Aşık Ziyeddin, an advanced word master in Anatolia of the 60-70s, is in an effort to train an apprentice to continue his profession of word mastery and love interest. The Apprentice Mustafa, who undertakes this hard work, has lost his heart to a girl older than him. He dreams of turning the heart of Gülbeyaz, who does not take care of himself by drinking some food from his hand to become a "Lover of Rights". However, Mustafa's dreams will be tested by religion, destiny, politics and poverty.

The military junta seized parliamentary rule on September 12, 1980. Hundreds of thousands of people have been arrested across the country and torture and executions continue. Leaders of various trade unions, associations and student organizations, who are being pursued by the intelligence services, are seeking ways to illegally leave Turkey's borders.
