Based on a true story of a meeting in June 1945 between two powerful men with very opposite philosophies and perspectives on the future of their country.

Christmas Eve, 1995. Two best friends meet up to spend their holidays together after a long period of absence. Whilst reminiscing about the coming of age in late 1950s Zagreb, they remember a mysterious woman they both fell in love with during that time.

The doyen of national theater, Dado Telebuh, goes through psychological crisis after being dumped by his lover Ivan Starcevic, who got involved in a romantic relationship with Jurica Pavicic. Alone in his apartment, Dado tries to find comfort in all-night telephone conversations via SOS service, who provide him with psychological support in the form of nun called Sanja Separovic. For his characters, much disputed Croatian director Jakov Sedlar used real names of the film critics and public figures who disdained his cinematic work.

The carefree and somewhat idyllic life of a ten year old boy named Marijan is violently interrupted when war ravages his small town of Dalj and his families closest friends and neighbors turn on them purely because they are Croatian. Marijan is forced to witness and experience things an adult would have an incredibly difficult time dealing with. He is nevertheless faced with the inexplicably horrid events war brings out in people. The story centers on a present day Marijan- now the very successful owner of a wood manufacturing business. On one random day a man walks into his store and all of the memories he wishes he could long forget come flooding back, forcing him to relive them. Despite his immense hardships, Marijan lives on in forgiveness, always seeking the positives that lay in the future rather than rehashing and remaining in the past.

To pay off his gambling debts, Lembach, an ex-officer of the Austro-Hungarian army, extorts money from his wife Laura and her lover Križovec. Križovec himself has a love affair with Russian countess Georgievna, who herself is also into romantic relationship with another Russian countess. This tetragonal love affair comes to its boiling point.

Mihaljic agreed and bravely risked her own life by disguising Esther as Roma, thereby saving her. This previously unknown story is brought to life in this moving documentary recounted by Esther Levi herself.
