Dutch filmmakers gathered to make this compilation movie, consisting of 17 segments, as a reaction to the status quo in The Netherlands after the assassination of filmmaker Theo van Gogh on november 2, 2004.

Viegeltje looks like a girl but has wings instead of arms. Bird watcher Warre finds her under brushwood and takes her home. Warre and his wife Tine decide to keep Viegeltje and raise her like an ordinary girl. But Viegeltje isn't an ordinary girl and she flies away. She wants to go to the South with the other birds. It becomes a long and adventurous journey.

Anton and Els van Dijk have a hair salon in Hilversum. While this opens up an exciting new world for one daughter, it marks the beginning of a period of personal tragedy and radical change for the other. In doing so, he not only turns his own life upside down, but also that of the once famous but now estranged singing duo Benno and Wil, whom he managed years ago. Will Peter succeed in getting the duo back in front of the cameras? And what consequences will Ietje and Eef's unorthodox choices have on their family?

In the second half of the 1950s, prosperity slowly began to take hold in the Netherlands, but not for Bob Somers, his father, and four sisters. As the son of a village coal merchant, Bob was destined to take over his father's business. When Bob visits a revue in the city, sparks fly. Not only between him and the glitz and glamour of the revue, but also between Bob and Jeanne, the daughter of the owner of a shop selling modern household appliances. Bob moves to the city and manages to get a job as a stagehand, allowing him to witness the revue performance every day.
