Struggling with the breakdown of a relationship, Leo moves back to a dilapidated 'city of tomorrow' to live with his belligerent grandfather and his father Rafael, a disillusioned engineer who once worked in Cuba's now-abandoned nuclear program.

During summer in La Habana, four adolescents with physical problems, while in vacation from school, spend a day in a swimming pool with their apathetic instructor.

The countenance of Joseba Sarrionandia is multi-faceted, not only for having dabbled in all literary forms of expression, but for having been capable of creating his own imagery, composed of endless worlds. Thus, several of the elements appearing in the literary world will undoubtedly appear here: the sea, the port, childhood, trains, uprooting, war, destruction, love, drifting, pain, fantasy, mystery, initiation, torture...

The last lighthouse keepers pay an intimate tribute to life in the lighthouse and reflect on the work that has defined their lives. It is not only their profession that is disappearing... A collective, peaceful requiem for a way of life that is dying out.
