Thirteen-year-old Cassie Palmer, the seventh child of a seventh child, has inherited the gift of second sight. Unsure whether or not she even believes in ghosts, Cassie heads to the cemetery to test her ability to communicate with the Other World. An ancient church is being dismantled and moved to a new location, stone by stone. One of the gargoyles from the stones falls into the possession of a mother who takes the stone man back to her family. Soon after, four strangers show up in the village and the Sogood & Firkettle children seem to be the only ones who question the mysterious things that begin to happen. This film was originally broadcast across six 25 minute episodes with a total runtime of 150 minutes. A few years later, the US cable network Nickelodeon edited the miniseries into a 2 hour (including commercials) movie block. This 2 hour edited version was shown throughout the 1980s on US television.

Young Sizwe is stuck in an unhappy home where his abusive father, together with a mean-spirited friend, neglect the poor young boy, often refusing to give him any food or water. Things start to look up for Sizwe when he befriends Mandla, another young boy who lives in the area, but one day, while Sizwe and Mandla are out playing together, Sizwe’s father and his buddy kidnap Mandla, taking him hostage. Mandla, however, is a resourceful boy, and when Sizwe brings Mandla’s father to help out, the trio manage to get the upper hand. In the end, the mean-spirited father and friend are beaten, and Sizwe is given a happy new home with Mandla and his caring dad.

Two Hobos were once each extraordinary men until life’s tribulations tragically tripped them both up. Dumasani used to be a renowned professional boxer, but after losing an important match, he fell into a downward spiral of depression and alcohol abuse, until ultimately landing up on the streets. Similarly, Jabulani used to be a great detective with numerous successful cases to his name, but after losing his wife and family through a nasty divorce, he too found solace at the bottom of a bottle and woke up one day to find himself homeless on the streets.

The story centers on a group of friends who are dedicated and enthusiastic volleyball players. One of the girls, Lola, however, believes that there is more to life than just volleyball, and together with three of her friends, starts investigating the possibility of attending university after school. Lola and her friends are mocked by an opposing volleyball team, who believe that university will suck them into a life of studying, with no time to focus on sport.In an effort to prove them wrong, Lola and her friends challenge the others to a volleyball tournament, and after emerging victorious, Lola proves that it is possible to be both physically and mentally fit.

A poor and humble community is threatened by a powerful criminal known as Dlamini, extorting the under-privileged villagers for protection money while stealing from them at the same time. When Makhosi returns home after years away, he is horrified to see what Dlamini is doing to his friends and family. After his good friend, Charlie, is threatened by the crook, Makhosi decides to take action.

Joseph and Mathilda’s beautiful outdoor wedding is tragically interrupted when a group of thugs emerge from the bushes and take the bride hostage. A ransom fee of R100’000 is demanded from Joseph who scrapes together the last of his inheritance and, against the advice of his friends, sets out to pay the kidnappers off. The plot thickens when we learn that the mastermind is Joseph’s own brother, and when the groom is tragically stabbed trying to rescue his bride, landing him in hospital, it is up to Mathilda’s determined sister to save the day and unearth the truth behind the kidnapping in an effort to ultimately reunite the couple.
