The two friends Tuna & Fedai, who lead their lives with various mischief, decide to escape to Hollywood to fulfill their dreams.

After martial law is declared, Sibel is taken in. Sibel, who has completely lost her self after the torture, tries to hold on to life. But her husband Atilla's questions about what happened in Sibel's custody will become frequent.

Ömer lives with his family in a suburb of Stockholm. One of his sons, Kemal, respect his father's strict authoritarian and traditional Muslim values. The other Metin wants to live for more liberal norms. A conflict between the two brothers arise.

Utlänningen is a typical exponent of independent, exile and migrant filmmaking. It contains documentary footage from both Finland and Turkey and depicts the situation of the forced migrant: to be placed in-between two countries and two different socio-political situations; between the on-going political struggle in a remote Turkey and the current situation in a foreign Finland. Özer acts the leading part in the film.
