James Ferraro's sci-fi/crime/action story made up from a hodgepodge of old miscellaneous video footage strung together. OFFICIAL "Storyline" description off the VHS: Set in a crime-ridden Rochester, New York in the near future, RAPTURE ADRENALINE centers on a police officer who is brutally murdered and subsequently re-created as a super-human cyborg. The main plot of the movie revolved around a "Bug' (code word for a member of an alien species that is similar in many ways to a very large cockroach) searching for a miniature galaxy which is also a vast energy source.

Fueled by the hope of escaping her dreary suburban life, a misunderstood teen entertains the increasingly sinister advances of an Internet friend in a riff on the 1966 Joyce Carol Oates story “Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been?”

When Doug - a hapless employee at a VR startup - is forced to work the night shift, he becomes fast friends with a squatting vagrant named Stick. Increasingly belittled by his domineering wife, Vera, and the company's reckless owner, Vikas, Doug falls under Stick's charming spell over the course of several delirious nights. As the two of them bond over the nature of reality, virtual and otherwise, Stick begins empowering Doug to take back control of his life...but to what end?

Ground Zero

An awkward teen develops a crush on a salesman visiting her father's parish.

This single-channel video explores the effects of technology and information overload on the contemporary psyche. Set in a virtual tech-noir urban space populated by strange hybrids of non-humans and augmented people, part of the expansive, fractured narrative focuses on the continued adventures of Xanax Girl and her search for her companion—a hybrid dog/seal with the head of a boy—who has been abducted. The film, which arose from the artist’s daily practice of animating his dreams using hobbyist 3D software, weaves together deep-web imagery with hardboiled detective story tropes and repressed libidinal fantasies to create a nightmarish vision of an internet addict’s unconscious. The film features an original score by Oneohtrix Point Never and James Ferraro.

An interview with the author and, at the same time, an exciting voyage through some cult virtual-hyper-reality-simulacro. The OJ chase, Hollywood forever cemetery, Dr. Phil are just some ingredients of this delicious visual trippy cake.
