The river people

Gentle or rough, blonde or shaved, cis or trans, long term inmates or those newly admitted: women re-enact their lives in a Buenos Aires prison, in trance and balance, voguing and singing. A hybrid musical and charming piece of collective empowerment.

Emanuel travels to visit his grandma Catie, who lives in the countryside. He has a feeling this is going to be their last goodbye. His mother's looking after Catie and she has decided not to speak a word about grandma's diagnosis, because she does not want to embitter her. Emanuel does not agree with this decision, but on the other hand, he is also hiding his own sexuality to his grandma. Every little moment shared among them, makes strengthen family ties while mismatched feelings emerge. Emanuel should reconsider if things are really better left unsaid.

The villagers of El Dorado, Argentina, shy away from doctors. Then again, they hardly need one. They have almost as many cures for ailments and illnesses as there are residents in the village. 65 year old Jorge can also cure the most dreaded ailment of them all, the much feared espanto.

Against a pristine blue background, butchers working in an Argentine abattoir talk about their work—how to cut a heart from a carcass, for example—but mostly about their private lives. With the fresh blood still on their white aprons, they engage in short conversations that touch on fathers and children (or their absence), on motivations and on deepest fears.
