The Afflicted Animal

Three Sámi men travel to the capital of Norway. One of them is wearing gákti, the Sámi traditional costume, to attract Norwegian women. The second one believes it unethical to do this, and the third is bitter that he doesn't attract women when he wears the gákti. Indigenous Police is a Sámi short film told with humor and political sting. It is an identity satire about how people, both the Sámi and the majority population, consciously and unconsciously define what is the right way to be Sámi.

Elvira, a confident Sámi teenager, firmly believes that her lesbian single mother conceived her at a Danish fertility clinic. She often daydreams about her father, envisioning him as a charismatic movie star. However, her world is turned upside down when her real biological father unexpectedly steps into her life.

A man breaks out of his group of friends to follow his own calling. His old friends will not accept this and bring him back home for punishment and subduing. The story takes place in a twisted Sámi universe in Northern Norway.

A young girl adores her late father. Obsessed with every little detail of how he was she envisions his clothes, hands, face, behavior and actions. An accidental meeting triggers doubt in her love for her father.
