A former aristocrat Ippolit Vorobyaninov leads a miserable life in Soviet Russia. His mother-in-law reveals a secret to him - she hid family diamonds in one of the twelve chairs they once had. Vorobyaninov in cooperation with a young con artist Ostap Bender start a long search for the diamonds.

The Wizard of the Emerald City (Russian: Волшебник Изумрудного города) is a ten-part stop-motion adaptation of the first book in Alexander Volkov's Magic Land series. Produced by Ekran, it is believed to have aired monthly from around December 1973 to September 1974. Because of the wicked Gingema, a young girl named Ellie and her little dog Totoshka are swept away to the Magic Country, where incredible adventures await.

The sea is raging near the shore. Fishes are merrily circling in the water. Meanwhile, numerous shells were sleeping peacefully at the bottom. Suddenly a ray of sunlight comes through the sea. Kind boy Alyosha saves a black hen from a bird of prey. The black chicken takes on a human form and takes Alyosha to a magical underground kingdom.

And in the morning, the main person in the city - the mayor - made sure that the lamplighter put out all the lights on time - after all, it was already light during the day. In the morning the lamplighter was resting, and the owlet flew to sleep on the roof, and every time he woke Drakosha up. Drakosha was a dragon and lived in a garbage can.

This story is about how the ability to read books helped rescue a friend from trouble. So, one day Drakosha lit lanterns in the city, and the evil Trapper caught him and put him in an iron cage. Girl, Owlet and Cat decided to free their friend.
