Strangled

This social Drama tells the parallel stories of three families in rural Hungary today. The stories of a rich businessman, Árpád, his wife Franciska and their daughter Babita, a photographer called Gábor, his ceramist girlfriend Edina and a prison priest. Their destinies are linked. Many of them live or have lived in the same city and their lives upended by the secrets and crimes that are revealed over a period of 10 years.

For seven years his family did not know anything about Gábor. One day he sends a video camera and a message on a video tape to his younger brother, János. They start sending video messages to each other and get on well, until it comes to light that Gábor and Judit, wife of János, had an affair in the past.

Death does not select, man does. Set in Budapest, Heavenly Shift offers an eerie insight into the everyday lives of a rather extraordinary ambulance crew. The films main character is Milan, a young refugee from the Balkan War, who joins a team of paramedics but inadvertently ends up involved in the funeral business in order to finance his fiancee s rescue from the hostilities.

Hilda is forced to follow helplessly the tragic death of her mountaineer husband Zsolt Eröss. As the heir of the deceased Hilda tries to cope with public expectations with her husband's attitude. It takes time for her to admit, that she needs help in dealing with the tragedy.

Áron is a happy child in his family. But at some point things take a different turn, and his mother starts to lose her health rapidly. As this happens, the man in charge decides what's best for Áron without consulting the young boy's opinion, and the boy finds himself thrown out of his warm home into an orphanage in the woods. He's utterly displeased by what's happening, without knowing he has yet to face much worse...

Three people live together without having anything to do with each other. The macho father used to have a shooting gallery which he had to sell. Yet secretly, he keeps on dreaming about it.
