To avoid an arranged marriage chosen by her parents, Lia decides to run away with the man she loves, even though Rully is an unemployed man who is merely taking advantage of her parents' wealth. Fortunately, Lia meets Andy, a journalist who is suspicious of Rully's behavior. It is later revealed that Rully is, in fact, the very man Lia's parents had intended for her to marry.

The story follows Erwin, who gets Peggy pregnant but refuses to take responsibility, claiming it was just a fling and citing Peggy’s past history of living together unmarried. Peggy refuses when asked to abort the pregnancy. Later, Erwin falls in love with Rosa, whom he also gets pregnant; this time he wants to take responsibility, but his parents disapprove. Eventually, Rosa dies while attempting to abort her pregnancy. Erwin then wishes to marry Peggy, but she refuses. Erwin pursues Peggy until he manages to win her back.

Surya, a retired ship captain and a widower with five children, has trouble with disciplining his kids. So he invites a private teacher to educate and guide his children. Several teachers try and fail. Eventually, a young teacher, Utari, is able to conquer them slowly. One day the children disturb Surya’s future wife. She suspects that Utari is behind it all, so she is fired. Utari goes home, heartbroken. The children are gloomy and the youngest one gets sick. Surya approaches the teacher to work again for them. Utari refuses. Only when the children approach her does she relent and return to Surya’s house.

With a cast of dangdut singers and dangdut groups, this film also highlights a dangdut music festival. H. Imron forbids his daughter Diana to sing dangdut. Her outdoor activities are watched carefully. Meanwhile, Diana teaches their talented housemaid, Itje, to sing dangdut. Later she takes part in the dangdut music festival.
