Atrapados

A young man who lives in a South American military dictatorship goes out during curfew to make drawings with chalk, for thrills. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film.

A deranged man hides in the attic of a new house and becomes obsessed with the unsuspecting family that moves in.

After a 17-year-old shoots his parents dead and then turns the gun on himself, an investigative reporter makes a disturbing discovery. The adopted boy was born to a mother who, as a teen, inexplicably murdered her parents as well. Even more alarming is the discovery that the dead boy has a twin, who may also be genetically predisposed to kill.

New York: Every night the mysterious "Night Owl" goes on the air with her moody radio show. She seems to have an inexplicable influence on some men; several of Julie's friends commit suicide while listening to her voice. She fears for her husband Harry, who becomes more and more distant from her.

Prior to leaving Hampshire College in 1980, Tom was working on a 16mm film inspired by Jose Arguelles' book, The Transformative Vision: Reflections on the Nature and History of Human Expression. Shot in sync and MOS, the footage reflects Tom's interest in perception, human consciousness, and signaled his evolving interest in fusing non-fiction, experimental and dramatic genres. All the original materials for this unfinished film were stored at the LA home of Ken Levin, another Hampshire College alum who along with several other students, worked with Tom on this project, which he called the Architecture of Mountains.
