The story of the rise to prominence of Luk, a Shanghai fruitseller who became one of the most powerful men in China in the first half of the 20th Century.

An old blind martial master living in a cave teaches a young swordsman the secret of the Buddha's Palm, a legendary martial arts technique, which propels him into a whole new world of evil knights, hidden temples, dragon dogs, and magical objects.

Before the breakout of the Sino-Japanese War, Hong, Wang, and Peng were best friends. Hong and Wang secretly joined the local guerrillas after the Japanese began invading China. Hong ran a small business and Wang worked as a courier for a Japanese trading firm, hiding their true identities in order to collect intelligence on the Japanese for the Eight Route Army, and established a railway guerrilla unit. Wang soon found out that the trading firm he was working for was indeed an intelligence unit of the Japanese. They infiltrated the Japanese special forces and eliminated many Japanese. Suspicions arise from the Japanese as to the real identity of the individuals suspected of being part of the railway guerrilla forces, so called Flying Tigers unit, so the Japanese began to form a counter-spying operation and other under-handed means by recruiting Chinese traitors to uncover and eliminate them all.

Hong Kong action star Max Mok stars in this period drama as Lau, a eunuch living at the end of the Ching Dynasty. Lau finds himself absorbed in the past along with another eunuch named Siu, and the two fall in love as they share their passion for Peking Opera. Unfortunately, they're unaware that their relationship serves as the catalyst for a series of events that end in disaster. Twilight indeed!

Police Cadet '84 was a TV series which included such stars in TVB as Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, and notably, Carina Lau. The story centered on a couple of young "cadets" in the Police Cadet School. Tragedy, romance, conflicts, and intrigues were featured. The series was immediately followed by a sequels titled "New Police Cadet '85" and "New Police Cadet '88". Both sequels stars Tony Leung.
