Le potager de mon grand-père

Toni is a mob movie combined with an urban love story and reflections about one's roots. The protagonist, Toni, is a young man from a small village in the south of Italy who arrives at the station Gare de Lyon in Paris. He never questions the education he receives from his mob family or the rules to which he is always chained. He contacts a man called "The Old Man," a strange character discarded by the family who is of help from time to time. This man is supposed to communicate to Toni all necessary information for him to accomplish his mission. Toni plans to execute it in perfect calm. But things do not go according to plan. He meets Marie, a vulnerable journalist whose best friend has just committed suicide. Two doomed characters enter a mysterious relationship.

In 1955, Francesco Rinaldi, his wife Vittoria, their daughter Pasqualina and their grandmother Nona left Italy to settle in southwestern France, on the Moreau family's agricultural property, who provided them with modest accommodation in exchange for their contribution to the upkeep of the estate.

Martin returns his childhood place. He has now been buried by a huge open dump. Martin decides to settle and live in this world of garbage, punctuated by the forth back and forth dances of trucks and bulldozers leveling and discharging waste. For days and months, Martin will mark his place in an unbearable universe seemingly driving to madness. He feeds himself with the trash. He bathes into the river each daily, like a step back to the primitive world.

Marie, in her forties, lives alone. She finds herself living with her parents in a vacation home.
