She's a Sweetheart

Billy Bevan and Andy Clyde play hobos who hop onto a train where they are hired. Their misadventures lead to chaos, blending mistaken identity with classic physical comedy.

Hugh and Dudley stay at Dr. Flint's Sanitarium, unaware that two escaped convicts are using the place for a hideout.

An exiled king supports his daughter and himself by serving genuine chili con carne at a rapid-service lunch counter. Word arrives that he will be crowned if he returns to Necko-Shavia and hires a taxi driver to take him there. It all turns out to be a ploy by villains to get them back to the snow-covered country. When the villains kidnap the princess and attempt a getaway in their airplane taxi driver Billy daringly negotiates a high jump on his skis and overtakes the plane in mid-air, thus affecting a thrilling rescue.

After learning they were duped by a con artist, two songwriters join forces with other swindled colleagues and use creative methods to promote their music.

After running over a police officer's motorcycle, Ben and Billy are chased by the law onto a docked ship where they disguise themselves as a European baron and general. In the same guises they then invade a high society party with the gendarmes in close pursuit.

Andy invests the money his wife gave him to pay the bills into a sure-fire money-making scheme, a girl's softball team made up of out-of-work chorus girls. Mrs. Clyde is, to say the least, not amused.

The Stooges are repairmen who get a job fixing the doorbell in large house which is the secret headquarters of some Nazi spies. They manage to ruin most of the house while working on the wiring and then subdue the spies and sink an enemy submarine by remote control.

The Stooges get jobs selling "Brighto", what they think is cleaning fluid. After ruining a cop's uniform and a new car, they discover Brighto is actually medicine. Taking their sales pitch to a hospital, they get into more trouble and must leave on the run when the head of the hospital turns out to be the owner of the car they ruined.

A professor bets that he can turn the stooges into gentlemen. After many attempts to teach them etiquette, he brings them to a fancy society party. The stooges' new found manners don't last very long, and the party quickly degenerates. By the end, the other guests have adopted stooge-like behavior and the stooges leave as gentlemen.

The Stooges are running the local drugstore and mix up a potion that a desperate businessman decides to sell as scotch. The Stooges impersonate Scotsmen at a party to fool the prospective buyer. Their usual antics disrupt the party, ending when a barrel of their "scotch" explodes and floods the whole house.

To escape the police, the stooges pose as plumbers and are hired to fix a leak in a fancy mansion, but they wind up crossing the electrical system with the plumbing and generally ruin the place.

Charley, over his wife's objections, has invited his boss over for dinner. Mrs. Chase walks out, and Charley hires a waitress to pose as his wife. Meanwhile, the boss picks up Mrs. Chase and brings her as his dinner guest.

Charley buys a wreck of an automobile that's been made to appear new by a disreputable used car dealer, but he soon realizes it's literally falling apart. He stops payment, and then must dodge repossesors as well.

Judy McCoy, a fortune teller with a circus, learns she has inherited some property and heads west to collect. When she arrives in the desert ghost town, she learns that a stipulation in the will is that she has to return the property to the rightful owners, an Indian tribe, before she gets the remaining inheritance

In this one-hour special taped between March 9-17, 1981, Lily Tomlin and Dudley Moore join the Muppets in a tribute to film classics. Kermit the Frog hosts the program, which begins with an all-cast rendition of "Hey a Movie!" from The Great Muppet Caper.

The Bowery Boys come to the rescue when a corrupt taxi company puts the squeeze on several independent drivers.
