Heroes Wanted

A white-collar crook, an itinerant carnival vendor and other colorful characters keep on chugging through life while residing in a campground. They are down on their luck. They live in a campground. But these eccentrics still embrace their own joie de vivre.

After the Spanish Civil War breaks out, the Prado Museum is being evacuated. One of the guards finds a painting by the master, Goya, and takes it to prevent damage to the work of art. In the interim, he meets a young lady with whom he falls in love. Assisted by her and her family members, the soldier attempts to save Goya's masterpiece intact amidst the war and violence.

A family of five living in 50 square meters without air conditioning on a scorching summer day decides that perhaps the best option is to stay overnight in the empty 'mansion' where the father works as a gardener.

Mikel, a young cook, meets with his father Juan, who had been missing for 30 years. The characters talk, argue, laugh, cry, threaten, whisper, shout, steal, make dates, get angry with and hug one another, prompting the spectator to reflect on the immense power of words.
