It's just weeks to go to Christmas in the Brown house. The turkey is getting plucked and Grandad is getting stuffed (Or is that the other way around). Agnes is excited because her son Trevor whom she has not seen in five years has promised to pay a Christmas Visit home. However Cathy returns from her trip to America with unwelcome news, but who will tell Mammy? Rory Brown is distraught because his partner Dino has tried to drown him, Mark and Betty do their best to keep everybody calm, while nobody is sure what to do about Winnie's big box or Granddad‘s little hamster.

Agnes Brown - a widow living in Ireland - runs her home with an iron fist as she manages her sons, daughter Kathy and best friend Winnie. Add elderly Grandad, various in-laws and grandchildren to the mix and Mrs Brown usually has her hands full. Funny, outspoken and never at a loss for words (especially profanity), she gets through life and the daily grind with a caustic remark and a loving wink. What makes the show different is that the "fourth wall" is broken often leaving in the bloopers.

Mrs Brown opens the doors to her house for a Saturday night entertainment show in which she and the family are joined by celebrity guests.

Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere is the much-loved sequel to Peter Kay's critically-acclaimed comedy series, "Phoenix Nights". Get ready for more outrageous behaviour as things aren't looking so great for Mammy; Cathy's psychiatrist boyfriend wants her to be his case study, Winnie's husband Jacko needs a life-saving but unaffordable operation and Buster and Dermot have come up with another dim-witted scheme to make some quick cash. To top it off she's overheard her family talking about putting her in a care home... and decides to show them just how fit and functional she is by displaying a new lease of life. She's up against it all right, but nothing keeps Mrs. Brown down for long!
