It turns out that the men are thieves who have seen her take an expensive diamond necklace from a store, and are following her to steal it. However, all is not quite as it seems, as Billy is soon to find out.

Upon his father's death, Steve returns from his days as a South Pacific beach bum to protect his father's estate, which has fallen into the hands of Steve's estranged grandfather. The grandfather's foreman, Joe Blenham, attempts to wrest the ranch from Steve's rightful inheritance, whether the means are legal or not.

A remake of 1930's "Phantom of the Desert", in which a crooked foreman and the ranch hands are rustling horses, and laying the blame on a wild stallion that roams the surrounding hills.In this one the principals are Jim/Cheyenne(Rex Lease) as the cowhand that comes along and clears the horse,Starlight;the crooked foreman is Clyde Winslow(Harry Woods), while Helen Sutter(Dorothy Gulliver) is the daughter of ranch owner Frank Sutter(Jay Hunt.) This one was remade at least four more times by 1940.

Stern district attorney John Raymond sentences innocent June Lawrence to prison along with her guilty husband Dan. After she dies in prison, her brother, reporter Jerry Heath, vows revenge. He gets his opportunity when he is sent to cover a police raid. His photographer takes a picture of Raymond's daughter Kay dancing on a table in her underwear. Jerry saves her from the raid in order to get her exclusive story for his paper.

David Darby and his younger brother Ross are both members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Ross is accused of murdering Slip Martin, but David doesn't believe his brother committed the murder and, not wanting to see him executed, takes the blame himself.
