Dilemma

Six young filmmakers were each given the chance to shoot a short on a common theme. Combined, their efforts result in a feature. The idea is to tell an alternative history of Antwerp, based on tall stories, rumors and events.

In the middle of nowhere lies the little Dutch village: Barslet. The only strange thing about the village seems to be the name, which means "bar slut" in Dutch. But there is also a different interpretation of the name. "Bars" means "unfriendly" in Dutch and "let" is medieval Dutch for "people". So Barslet means "unfriendly people". Barslet seems to be an ordinary and peaceful village. But if you believe that, you're mistaken.

Somewhere in the near future, exists The Arena. Here men with an 'agression gene' with which they want to live no longer, are being admitted to fulfil their wish to die. Through fights to the death, televised by the commercial sportschannel, lives are being ended before one's time. Temmink, one of the gladiators, wins his first fight, finds a friend in a colleague and falls in love with one of the prostitutes. He becomes a national hero and loses his will to die. But, once admitted to the The Arena, there is no return...

Marina, the lead character, finds out that on the torn continent of Latin-America, it is not about winning prizes, but about being part of the match it self, and that all that matters is to be able to make a difference, even if it is a small one

When André, Bart and David go to do odd jobs in an old farmhouse, they no longer appear immortal. They alternate leaden seriousness with limp nattering, but that doesn't escape the fact that they are getting older.

Brandon gets a chance to get out of the gang and train for an important judo match. But Brandon doesn't want to lose Stefano, who has also joined the gang, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to make the right choices.
