A Small Autocratic Republic

Ho Tae joins in Dong Ki's plan for a futuristic car but worries about how to fund the project. A businessman recognizes the spirit of these two and helps them. Through Jae Ha's introduction, Ho Tae and Dong Ki meet Old Man Hwang whose experience helps them make the futuristic car. And so begins the schemes of the leading car companies to win them over. Through many twists and turns, they develop the futuristic car. But then they find out that their invention may break social stability.

After coincidentally witnessing a boy jumping from the rooftop due to pressures of the college entrance exam, our heroes conceive an idea for a learning device that works while you sleep. Dong-gi, Ho-tae, and Jae-ha go to Chairman Kim of an electronics company to get the funds to make it. They experiment the 'snooze machine' on their younger brother, Dong-seok. Once at the bottom of the class, Dong-seok goes to the top but he is ostracized by his classmates. They reject the snooze machine and shout, 'Let us live like human beings!' Ho-tae gets into an argument with the other two over the development of the snooze machine. He moves out but later is persuaded back by the great burst of laughter stemming from solid friendship. Arm in arm, the three face a brighter tomorrow together.

When one of his charges at the orphange dies, Jang Cheong-chan decides to search for the boy's mother who had given him up due to finacial problems. His search leads him to help many women forced to work on the streets to earn enough money to live.

Min-woo (played by Jeon Yeong-rok), who came to Hong Kong for business, has his bag stolen at the airport. And after the suspicious death of his friend Ho-jin, Min-woo is treated as a mentally ill person and is confined to a hotel. With the help of the branch manager's secretary, Miss Ho, he is confined to the hotel. After Miss Ho is found dead, Min-woo confirms that Hyang-ri's dead lover, James, is the same person as Ho-jin. Min-woo, who was caught by the villain Chen while trying to save Hyang-ri's female soldier and drowned in the sea, is rescued and Ho-jin's body is recovered from the sea. It is finally revealed that CEO Jin was jealous of Ho-jin and Hyang-ri and had Chen kill Ho-jin. He chases CEO Jin as he runs away and destroys him. When Min-woo returns, love with Hyang-ri awaits him.

Taking a year off from wokr to study for the bar exam, Cheong-chan finds his life interrupted by his sister and her turbulant marriage. He also finds himself falling in love with his childhood friend, Da-hye.

Jung-yeon receives a tip-off that her son who went missing six years ago is in a fishing village. Local officers get in her way, trying to cover up a secret that might be related to her case.

In 1910, Korea suffers the humiliation of being annexed by Japan. Young patriots form an independence group called Bukrogun Jeongseo. General Kim Jwa-jin as well as freedom fighters such as Lee Bum-suk, Na Jung-jo are burning with nationalistic spirit. Japan takes over Manchuria. In order to destroy the freedom fighters, Japan employs the Manchurian bandit, Jang Jak-rim, and starts plotting their destruction. Risking their lives, the freedom fighters engage in a bloody battle at Chungsan-ri under the extraordinary leadership and burning patriotism of General Kim Jwa-jin. Despite being greatly outnumbered, the freedom fighters are triumphant.

Seon-hwa is a new student at an elite medical school, and she is initiated into a dissection class headed by Dr. Han along with five other students, including her boyfriend Ki-beom. After the first class the students all start to share the same nightmare involving a one-eyed surgeon, and one by one they start to be murdered, the victims being discovered with their hearts removed. Seon-hwa and Ki-beom are convinced that these events are related to a beautiful cadaver with a rose tattoo on her breast, and they begin an investigation to uncover her identity.
