Chris is a teenager growing up as the eldest of three children in Brooklyn, New York during the early 1980s. Uprooted to a new neighborhood and bused to a predominantly white middle school two-hours away by his strict, hard-working parents, Chris struggles to find his place while keeping his siblings in line at home and surmounting the challenges of junior high.

Due to a rare disease, a child grows a beard. He likes being himself but resents people staring at him.

Four young people travel to a seaside town looking for fun. After a night of drunkenness, funny games and fooling around, they discover a pink and viscous goop that inexplicably seduces them. The fun is over, and one by one they begin to die.

After an ecstatic drunken party, a couple wakes up without any recollection of the events of the previous night. When they find traces of a possible hit and run on the car's bumper, they come to believe they may have committed murder.

“Almost Absent” ultimately refers to the gestures of a generation of films that have originated and developed amid the contexts and aesthetic restrictions of the pandemic. While elaborating these elements, the film also explores how our screen-mediated reality affects our way of looking at the world, and in what way this gaze allows us to reflect upon cinema.

With a broken heart thanks to the end of a relashionship, Giba wanders around. All of a sudden he meets his friend Conrado, who introduces him Bia.
