Fireflies: River of Light

Takayanagi is a mysterious high school teacher, who teaches ethics. His students look innocent, but they have serious problems like being bullied and harming themselves. Takayanagi tosses out words & ideas in ethics and philosophy to his students. The words written in the ethics textbook seem boring, but the words by such figures like Socrates affect the students to deal with their own problems and lives.

"National High School Photography Championship Tournament", also known as "Shashin Koshien" is an event held annually in Higashikawa, Hokkaido, Japan's town of photography. Every summer, Shashin Koshien decides which school has the best photography club. Oyama, Sakura, and Mirai from Kansai Academy in Osaka were encouraged by their advisor to join with the aim of letting them experience "a world where people who are challenged could see". Meanwhile, Tsubakiyama Shota, a senior at Sakuragaoka Gakuen in Tokyo is the only member of his school's photography club. Other members resigned thinking that photography won't help in getting them to a university. In spite of principal Saeki objecting to his plans, Shota was still eager to join, forming a team with his childhood friend and a junior volunteer. With over 500 schools all over the country, only 18 schools would be chosen to participate in the event. Competitors fight to capture the beauty of Japan and the human spirit.

The setting is the prestigious, traditional Japan University of Science. Mitsugu Kimura, a top-achieving student, is a resident of Sigma House, a student dormitory. Mitsugu is joined by a group of unique, problematic students with the lowest grades, but Sigma House is in danger of being demolished. Professor Migita, who is conspiring to build a hotel on campus, has plotted to close the dormitory unless all the students get straight A's on their next exams. In Campus Academic Wars, students wage a cheating war against a corrupt university professor, with the survival of Sigma House at stake. Will glory or ruin await them at the end of this righteous(?) cheating that brings together all their intelligence and physical strength? Namie Amuro, the top J-pop music sensation, plays one of the students. Screening alongside the film In Tomoko's Case (starring Rie Tomosaka, directed by Katsuyuki Motohiro) as a double feature theatrical release.

A community is in turmoil when junior high schoolers barricade themselves in an empty factory to protest the draconian rules of parents and teachers. They're sick of heavy-handed teachers and iron-fisted parents. And now they're going to do something about it.

The story of beautiful Christian nun, Kyoko who is the object of affection for two very different men - one the happy-go-lucky yakuza gangster, Haruhiko who is the next-in-line to takeover the ragtag "Tenryu Gumi" gang and the other bumbling police detective Kumashiro. The Tenryu Gumi is a collection of misfits and other troublemakers but are relatively peaceful due to their Christian beliefs. Their bitter rivals are the more traditional "Kuroiwa Gumi", a much more sadistic and violent group led by godfather Kuroiwa.

The evil Hikita clan rises from the dead to fulfill a curse on the Satomi clan by restoring the face of their warlord by using the skin of Princess Shizu. In the process of trying to capture her, the clan murders her entire family, but Princess Shizu escapes their clutches. She enlists the aid of eight samurai warriors, possessors of powerful magic crystal, led by Dosetsu (Sonny Chiba!) to help rescue the remaining members of her court and revenge her family. Along the way, they must fight undead warriors, evil spirits, poisonous beauties and a giant centipede.

Looking for something to do during the summer, Akihiko Suzuki teams up with four girls (Namie, Natsumi, Mishiyo, and Komugi) and a guy (Kosuke) to start a little cafe down by the beach. Actually, he is more interested in the girls than the job. They used to ignore him, but by working at the cafe, he hopes to start a friendship with them.
