Operetta singer Adolf Berg will be called up for military duty just as he gets assigned a major role in an operetta. On the train he meets Ulla Wern and complications occur.

John is the skipper of the Albertina which is moored in Mariehamn. Nearby is luxury yacht Sea Star, where Ann-Mari boards. She begins to take an interest in John and makes sure to come aboard the Albertina to meet him.

"How crazy!" A man and a woman watch episodes from Nils Poppe movies outside a cinema Maxim in Stockholm. Poppe represents, among other things, a poor composer who vainly tries to get a tune adopted by a publisher. The failure makes him depressed, but he is living it up by meeting a good friend Calle, who invites him home. Poppe stays for a few days as a male housewife. Calle has a music store and there the two friends can go crazy among all the instruments.

A small Swedish town just after WW1. An accountant and his two journalist friends have entered the stock market. The result is not as good as expected.

The Österman brothers have come to realize that they need a housekeeper. Oldest brother Kalle travel to town and return with the young and modern Anna.

The fishermen Österman and Sjöberg are sued by merchant Wikström. In order to raise capital, they decide to start producing a medicine from a recipe by Österman's father.

The well-known musician and composer Åke Kjellberg wakes up in a nice Stockholm apartment. He lives in Count Sparvhök's empty home until it gets rented out.

A Swedish cargo ship is in the winter of 1938 at the dock in Gdynia in Poland, waiting to depart with coal to Sweden. In a tavern in the port a Polish dockworkers tries to tell something to the Swedish sailors, but is rudely turned away by the tavern owner. Later in the evening the port worker is found dead. That same evening one of the Swedish sailors, meets a Jewish woman who has fled Nazi Germany.

Fabian Bom is a waiter at a hotel in a small town. But he dreams of doing something else - to dance and sing on a stage. He is madly in love with Matilda Roos, singer and diva. Fabian is too insensitive to notice that Annie, who works in the kitchen, is in love with him. Encouraged by Matilda, Fabian leaves the hotel and goes to Stockholm to become famous. But, as he soon learns, it is more difficult than he first thought.

Baron Leijoncloo comes back to Sweden after many years in Argentina. On his way to his good friend Victor Sällberg's home, he loses his luggage. A con artist, Jönsson, finds it, and uses the baron's title to get invited to the manor of Mr. and Mrs. Blomqvist. By a coincidence, the baron also comes to the manor using a fake name. Jompa is unemployed - and not keen on getting a job. He still lives with his parents who are tired of his attitude about employment and regular hours. Jompa and his friends spend their time at nightclubs, cafés and doing petty crimes. While playing poker, Jompa becomes indebted to the criminal Kalle Lund. Of course, Jompa is unable to pay, but Kalle gives him a tip: an old fetcher has always a lot of money at home, and if Jompa could get his hands on the money, his troubles would disappear...
