After being sexually assaulted, a farmer's daughter, rejected by her parents, ends up with pimps and whores in a brothel until an honest car mechanic frees her.

Eve vows revenge, ready to do anything to disturb his peace.

Kató Varga (Klári Tolnay) is unable to play its part in front of the Admissions Committee of the School of Dramatic Art. Geszty (Tivadar Bilicsi), severe President of the Commission maintains that she has no talent for acting and mercilessly tells you will never be an actress. Kató prepares to take revenge and under the false name of Katyi Csiba, dressed as a peasant village, obtains admission to the house Geszty. Turning everything upside down, she makes your life hell.

But luckily for her, the previous tenant, who had a letter of recommendation for the director of Tormássy Works, has now been put in a mental home. So he can apply for a job with the "unused" letter of recommendation. Since the letter says that the "lady with a bit of a bug" will not get a job, she can go to the son of the CEO as a typist's assistant.

Klári lives in Pest with her widowed mother and works at a china-store. But she is a little clumsy and causes trouble everywhere.

In the story, the golden watch is a metaphor: life of an individual for whom honesty is of real value. Uncle Bogdán is the one to have the golden watch, which is all the "fortune" he has, apart from Juci, his only daughter, who supports him

Endre Julián, the young toy maker, lives a life of leisure. A man with a devious nature, he has his eye on the beautiful daughter Vera, the police inspector János Kántor. He takes her to his weekend home, but she realises that he is looking for an easy fling with her. An unfortunate accident causes Vera to disappear in deep water, and Endre notifies the police, telling Inspector Kántor the bad news. Eventually she is lucky enough to be found, but she doesn't want to hear anything about the toy maker. Endre's fatherly friend, Uncle Reményi, is very taken with the serious girl and decides to bring the young people together.

Antal Pager defends a strange woman, Maria Lazar, and the next thing he knows he is named a co-respondent in a divorce case. Noboy believes his story that Maria is a stranger he has never seen before and his family press him to marry the divorcée as the right thing to do. He does so with the understanding that they will be divorced as soon as possible. But the best-laid plans sometimes change.

Two young Italian guest workers in Germany find a beautiful dead woman one morning on the way to their job. The Kripo quickly determines that the dark-haired, young woman is the well-known sexworker Elena Rossano. The short, brutal and intense life of the girl is rolled presented in flashbacks.
