Uncle David

Nathan Barley is a Channel 4 sitcom written by Charlie Brooker and Chris Morris, starring Nicholas Burns, Julian Barratt, Charlie Condou and Claire Keelan. The series of six weekly episodes began broadcasting on 11 February 2005 on Channel 4. Described by his creator as a "meaningless strutting cadaver-in-waiting", the character originated on Brooker's TVGoHome – a website parodying television listings – as the focus of a fly-on-the-wall documentary called Cunt.

Almost a decade since larger-than-life glam-rock enigma Brian Slade disappeared from public eye, an investigative journalist is on assignment to uncover the truth behind his former idol.

Two boys fall through a grotesque, nightmare London, endeavouring to survive and escape, and perhaps find hope together in this dark comedy.

Jamie New is 16 and doesn’t quite fit in—instead of pursuing a "real" career he dreams of becoming a drag queen. Charlie's bath-time is interrupted by some old friends who they haven't seen in years. Though Charlie is bitter about old history, their friends help them come to terms with what they've gone through and what it means to remember.

David Hoyle stars in this dark and disturbing sequel to Uncle David. It returns us to a bleak caravan park somewhere on the Isle of Sheppey and finds Uncle David has introduced a new addition to his community, whose warped imagination and love of horror might have led to murder. Some of the park's inhabitants take a keen interest in the androgynous Michael/Michelle. A pair of emotionally disturbed siblings are especially curious and needy around this new arrival. Drawn into Uncle David's web, their presence has consequences for all concerned. Certainly not for the faint of heart, this is bold and adventurous filmmaking and as queer as it is unsettling.

One night in the basement of a drag bar, rehearsals are underway for the evening's show; queens Kim and Ava face the pressures of change when Oli, the bar owner, replaces their colleague for a younger queen. Meanwhile upstairs in the bar, young couple Jack and Nora try to salvage their relationship despite their secrets; and not too far away, washed-up actor Robert Lamore catches up with his agent in the hopes of a comeback. Despite their disparate nature, each story comes together through the shared pressures of performance, pride, and second chances.
