Otavio and Gilda are a very wealthy couple of the Brazilian elite who have the habit of eating their employees. Otavio owns a private security company and is a notable member of The Cannibal Club. When Gilda accidentally discovers a secret from Borges, a powerful congressman and the Club’s leader, her and her husband’s lives are in grave danger.

Tereza, born during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020, is being cared for by her parents Rimenna and Gabriel.

João, mounted on his horse Cruzeiro, and in the company of a wanderer named Tahiel, enters a large city in northeastern Brazil to face the one who took his lands and ended up with his family.

Set against an otherworldly landscape, this experimental short traces the metamorphosis of a larva into a mosquito, unraveling a layered exploration of identity, migration, and estrangement. Through a sensorial, hybrid form that blends microscopic footage with alienesque terrains, the film follows the mosquito’s passage through unfamiliar environments as it struggles to understand its own body and purpose. Disoriented and unmoored, the insect becomes a vessel for broader existential questions, transformation and displacement. Shot on expired 16mm film along the northeastern coast of Brazil, the film evokes both decay and discovery.

In this context, the precarious working conditions are contrasted with the obscurity and magnitude of the final product offered.
