Oh, These Dear Relatives

A comedy about the rivalry between two men from rather different parts of Germany, Bavaria and Prussia, a rivalry which extends from business to a rifle range when they compete in shooting.

Sailor Fritz corresponds with several women so he won't have to look for girls when on shore leave. All are keen to marry him, and he is busy fending them off while determining that it is Lotte whom he truly loves.

Tenor Mario Monti is searching for his wife Bianca's daughter, who is believed to be dead. Before Mario, Bianca was married to Carlo Scarpia, Mario's patron. When Carlo discovered that his wife and Mario were having an affair, he left them both and, as he was leaving, told Bianca that their daughter Mary had died. In reality, she grew up without knowing her real parents. Mario tracks Mary down in Munich, where she works as a ballerina at the State Opera.

Stefan is the son of the owner of a Bavarian steamship concern, which plies the Danube. During a trip to Budapest, he falls in love with the beautiful Etelka, who, unbeknownst to Stefan, is the daughter of his father's Hungarian competitor.
