Three Lives

The film tells about Davit Guramishvili's short period of activity during the rule of Vakhtang VI

Engineer McLean, the prince's wife Shirvanskaya and his lover Rumanescu, who came to the Soviet Union, pretend to be circus actors and act to the detriment of the country. Arranged as a worker in the oil industry, Rumanescu steals blueprints of a military invention from the chemist Petrov. Tom Jackson discovers that the circus performer and the saboteur John are one and the same person. Saboteurs, who will be chased by "red devils" and militia workers. They will try to escape abroad, but they will die in an avalanche near the Turkish border.

The novice writer Vasil Safonov and his friend, the cashier Apollon Kazachkov, become regular guests at the local casino. Their gambling habits lead them to unwittingly squander state funds. Initially, Kazachkov manages to return the wasted money, but his passion for gambling consumes him, and he loses every penny. This leads to his arrest, leaving Safonov in a desperate situation. In 1917, the people of the Russian Empire are no longer willing to fight Germany, but the bourgeois government of Alexander Kerensky is unwilling to defy its imperialist allies and stop the war. Only Vladimir Lenin's Bolshevik Party is resolute in calling for peace. In the front, the soldiers of one battalion elect three delegates to travel to St. Petersburg with donations the troops collected for the Pravda newspaper: Gudushauri, Panasiuk and Ershov. The three arrive in the capital and describe the horrendous conditions in which the soldiers live to Joseph Stalin, Lenin's trusted aid and colleague. They join the Bolsheviks and take part in the storming of the Winter Palace, led by Stalin and Lenin. Stalin announces that the great dawn of revolution has broken.

Wealthy Mrs. Khromova has a natural daughter, Musya, and an adopted daughter, Nata. The merchant Zhurov is in love with Nata, and hopes to marry her, but she is non-committal.
