Peter Green: Man of the World

Peter Green: Man of the World

2009 · 129 min · ★ 6.0 · Documentary, Music

Legendary blues guitarist BB King named Peter Green as one of the greatest exponents of the blues, and the 'only guitar player to make me sweat'. If Green had only written Black Magic Woman, his name would still have a place in blues rock history forever. His three short years leading Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac saw the band established as one of the biggest-selling groups of the 1960s. Yet at the height of their fame Green left the group, with his life spiralling into turmoil as drug-induced mental health issues took control. Rumours of his demise began to spread, and sightings of him became notorious. After years battling his mental illness, Green wrote and recorded again. Featuring archive performances and interviews with Carlos Santana, Noel Gallagher, founding members of Fleetwood Mac and Green himself, this film tells the story of one of blues rock's living legends.

Killing Joke - Malicious Damage - Live At The Astoria

With a reputation forged in fire, brimstone and magic, plus a fierce collective intellect, Killing Joke have long been one of rock's most iconic, influential and contrary outfits. This album captures the passion and brutal violence of Killing Joke's performance, sadly one of the last recorded concerts to feature bass player Paul Raven before his untimely death in 2007. Malicious Damage was filmed and recorded live at the legendary Astoria venue in the heart of London's Soho on 12th October 2003. Includes bone-shaking versions of Total Invasion, Seeing Red, The Fall Of Because, The Death And Resurrection Show, Kings And Queens, Empire Song, The Wait, Whiteout, Frenzy and more...

W.A.S.P.: The Sting: Live at the Key Club L.A.

The Sting is a live album and DVD by the band W.A.S.P. Originally released as a DVD/CD set, it is also available as a CD on its own. The concert was originally recorded and shown as a live webcast, which happened during the bands Helldorado World Tour. The DVD of the show (and the webcast) is the first live footage of the band to feature Blackies signature microphone stand, dubbed 'Elvis' by band and fans alike. This album according to band members is known as "The Sting". It is alleged that Blackie is unhappy with the way the DVD and CD were produced, feeling that the sound is of an inferior quality.

Cradle Of Filth: Heavy Left-Handed & Candid

MovieMusicDocumentary

Heavy Left-Handed & Candid is Cradle of Filth's second foray into visual entertainment's arena and with it comes a madness the likes of which may preferably never be seen again. A lethal injection of both concert and studio documentation, this DVD is testament to the maxim "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law," the veritable life code of one Aleister Crowley, who, in his time, was widely regarded as the most dangerous man in the world. Whether Cradle of Filth even come close to the prestigious title of "the most dangerous band in the world" remains as yet to be seen, but if there's one thing watching this marriage of Heaven, Hell, and the worst bits in between will assure you of, it's the Filth's ability to shock, shake, and deliver where it hurts the most... right on your grave. Open up and say.... "Aaarrrggh!"

The Loved One: The Michael Hutchence Story

MovieMusicDocumentary

Charismatic, enigmatic, Michael Hutchence was the personification of the classic rock and roll star and, seemingly, had it all. His untimely death in 1997 robbed the world of a unique and fragile talent. 'The Loved One' traces Hutchence and INXS' rise from obscure Sydney bar rooms and clubs to stadiums all over the world. Featuring interviews with many of Hutchence's close friends and contemporaries, the film sensitively investigates the pressures and demons that spurred his success and ultimately led to his spiral into depression and eventual death. Featuring stunning footage of Michael performing on the stages of the world, 'The Loved One' is a poignant and ultimately uplifting tribute to both the singer and the band
