People at the Marshes

A drama about tragical events which happened in remote village and were caused by jealousy.

Grachow, a researcher, is to escort a car to a distant place of the foreign exchange horse Favorite. The driver of Locha drives fast, although he was supposed to not exceed a speed of 30 km per hour. They experience various adventures along the way. Grachow, who drives the car, cannot control the speeding machine, he saves himself at the last moment by jumping out of the cabin. The car with the horse on the platform rolls down to the river ...

The plot is based on a story about the difficult life in a forgotten village that suffered from the Chernobyl accident. But people work, joke, live without fear, hope and wait. Yanka Kaganets, a conscientious man that loves his land, is one of them. He knows that for him and for his beloved Mary, there will come a spiritual balance one day...

The action takes place in the autumn of 1942, when German army was approaching Stalingrad and a group of Belarussian partisans decides to make a disruption in the rear of German's troop trains. Having found themselves without equipment, they send the young Mikhas to mechanic Bugreev. He is accompanied by Sazon Ivanovich, who is also cooperating with Germans - by the secret task of partisans. They come to the lodge, where equipment is hidden, build a fire and start to clarify explosive. Sudden arrival of Germans crushes the heroes' plan.

WWII. Joined forces of Polish and Russian partisans (despite they are in conflict) stand against German Sturmwind I & II actions.

In the 1920s, the Soviets arrived in the remote areas of the Polesie Marshes. However, the wealthy landowners of the village of Kureny had no intention of giving their land to the communists. The kulaks intimidated the people. But the peasants themselves took the first step: the entire village set out to build a causeway across the marsh to a new life.

Dedicated to the glorious Leninist Komsomol of Belarus. The film consists of four short stories: - The Secretary of the District Committee, based on A. Iskhah’s story “The Execution”; - Komstroy; - The Breakthrough; - The Far Calls.

During jockey's absence, the authorities decide to send his horse to the stud farm.

Life is returning to normal in a half-ruined town in Belarus at the summer of 1945. The children are undernourished and emotionally scarred. The community displays solidarity and common sacrifice, as they recovered from the ravages of war.

The film takes place during the Great Patriotic War. Tolya and Aleksey, the sons of Anna Korzun, became partisans and fought against the invaders in the BSSR.
