Laughter and Grief by the White Sea

Vanya has no money at all, and he gave away his last piece of clothing to save some poor animals. Now he has a cat, a dog, and a snake living in his house. Andrian and Ivan are two brother-sailors who worked in Arkhangelsk as a carved artists. And so, at the end of August they decided, like loons, to go to the island. When the men were already far away in the sea, they moored to a small patch of land and began to have a dinner. After the dinner they decided to go to sleep and go home in the morning. But they could not even imagine what disaster awaited them in the night.

Many different birds and animals have long settled on the shores of Lake Chad. One day they decided to choose a king for themselves and chose Lion. They called him the bravest, the strongest, the wisest and the most beautiful. Then a son was born to the Lion and the Lioness - a little Lion Cub. When the Lion Cub could walk by himself, he met a hyena who told the Lion Cub that he was a Lion, which means he was the king of animals, which means he was the bravest, strongest, wisest, most beautiful.

This film was made in reaction to revanchism fear that Germany would reunite and seek revenge on Europe and the USSR for World War II. A disguised Nazi slips into the US zone of divided Germany. The Americans nurse him back to health as he plots how to reunite the Fatherland.
