Five romantic characters share their lives in a vast castle. Rémi Chauveau, ten years old, lives in a broken home. He first experiences an austere boarding school and then an authoritarian and abusive nanny. Teenager, he works as butcher in Paris. On Saturday, he made “silly little things” that sometimes lead to prison.

Naive villagers find themselves duped by a pair of con artists who sweep into town proclaiming themselves "Holy Father" and "Holy Mother." Soon the pair of cons are making out like the bandits that they are, as the villagers hand over their money and their lands.

But Ulysses must cope with internal rivalries and struggles behind the scenes if he wants love and cinema to triumph.
