A mock-heroic 1798 poem Eneida is magnum opus of the first modern Ukrainian writer Ivan Kotliarevsky. It's a parody of Virgil's Aeneid, where Kotliarevsky transformed the Trojan heroes into Ukrainian Cossacks.

During the competition, it is she who produces amazing results of speed and ingenuity, accompanying and saving her husband at all stages. He had to meet him on the way a fortune-teller and a swamp waterman, which traded a horseshoe to a bunch of red peppers with the Cossack; and he had to beat the devil in cards and eventually find peace of mind in the family life with a beautiful Ukrainian girl.

Short humorous sketches. The first is called "solid character", and it describes the history of a tough chick, which was brought to a hairdresser for the first time. The second is about the uncomplicated life of a bird, which, however, did not prevent her from publishing own memoirs. The last story, "Fathers and Sons" tells of the relationship of adults and offspring.

This story takes place in a Ukrainian village. A thievish fox could not resist not eating some poultry. One night he crawled into a house to steal a chicken, but his actions awakened the owners of the house. In an attempt to flee, he fell into a trap. Only the Ouzel could solve all the fox’s problems.
