The Burning Buddha Man

Adaptation of the first volume following an eight-year-old boy Keiji getting a mysterious snack that can make him fish taiyaki (japanese fish-shaped cake).

Mio Meguro is a timid person. She is afraid of being hated by others, and this causes her to refrain from saying what she really wants to say. She doesn't have any specific things she wants to do. She got a job and eventually dated a man from her workplace. Mio Meguro wanted to marry the man, but he turns out to be a bad guy. Because of him, she becomes penniless and unemployed. Her life descends into a bottomless pit. Mio Meguro then happens to get a sharehouse, where the mysterious creatures known as yōkai live. The yōkai try to solve her problems in radical ways.

Zenitendo is a mysterious candy store that only lucky people can reach. All the candy recommended by Beniko, the owner of the store, is perfectly suited to the buyer's troubles. However, it depends on whether the candy will be used or eaten correctly that it can bring happiness or misfortune.

Following an end-of-term school ceremony, the American boy Bobby decides to go with his friend Akkun into the mountains outside their village, to a place perfect for a secret base. On the way they stop into a mysterious amusement park. They have fun there, but are attacked and cannot leave. Falling in with some other children who are also lost there, they fend off a number of attacks, and gradually learn the truth behind the facility.

This early gekimation by Japanese filmmaker Ujicha was produced as a graduate work in 2009 at Kyoto Saga University of Arts, Department of Tourism Design.

Ujicha has been working on an original, full-length dinosaur film originating from Japan. As of early-to-mid 2026, he has been steadily working on the film for roughly eight years, meticulously hand-crafting the cut-out models, sets, and sound design.
