Arturo is obsessed with cleanliness and order. This trait interferes with his normal life and raises problems with those around him, specially with his mother and bride. A doctor suggests he should make a treatment with gamma rays, in his private practice.

July 1, 1888. The body of a woman is discovered during a house fire, but the examination reveals that she died victim of a stabbing, not the flames. Her maid and pet dog are found drugged in another room.

Valencia, 1955. A down-on-her-luck spinster poisons her friend and employers out of envy.

July 21, 1958. Madrid wakes up to the news that a pawnbroker has been murdered in his shop. Soon, police finds that the victim's associate, his pregnant wife and their maid have been murdered as well in their own home across the street.

An account of the many assassination attempts suffered by dictator Francisco Franco (1892-1975), perpetrated between 1936 and 1964, taking as a starting point the short story entitled 'La verdadera muerte de Francisco Franco', an ucronic fantasy published in 1960 by the Spanish writer Max Aub (1903-71), who fled Spain after the Civil War (1936-39) and established in Mexico in 1942.

Fidel, an Asturian miner, after the closure of the mine where he works, decides to walk to Madrid with his family, to ask the king why the Constitution is not met, specifically the article that points out that all the Spanish citizens have the right to have a decent work. Finally Yolanda decides to find out who the person she's living with really is, and in doing so she puts her life and her daughter's at risk.
