MTV Unplugged is a 1993 live album by 10,000 Maniacs. The music was recorded for the MTV Unplugged series and it was also the last album by the band featuring Natalie Merchant as vocalist. In addition to the songs released on this album, four takes of "How You've Grown" were recorded, second takes of "Because the Night" and "Gold Rush Brides", a brief take of "Puff the Magic Dragon" and three other songs which featured singer David Byrne as a guest: "Let The Mystery Be" (two takes, one of which was released as a B-Side to "Few and Far Between" and on Campfire Songs: The Popular, Obscure and Unknown Recordings), "Jolene", and "Dallas". In 1994, it reached 13 on the Billboard 200.

Unplugged is an acoustic live album by Canadian musician Bryan Adams. The album was recorded completely in September 26, 1997 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. MTV Unplugged is a 2000 Grammy Award-winning live MTV Unplugged acoustic performance by Colombian born musician Shakira broadcasted in 1999, released in 2000 as an album and in 2002 as a DVD. It is rated as one of her best-ever live performances and paved the way for her successful English cross-over recording Laundry Service (2001).

Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum selling band The Pretenders performs with special guests including Iggy Pop, Shirley Manson of Garbage, Kings of Leon and Incubus, recorded live at the Decades Rock Arena in Atlantic City, NJ.

MTV Unplugged is the first live album by Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, released by Maverick Records in the United States on November 9, 1999 (see 1999 in music). It comprises songs performed by Morissette on the television program MTV Unplugged. Twelve tracks were included on the album, but Morissette performed several others, including "Baba", "Thank U" (both from 1998's Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie) and "Your House" (the hidden track on 1995's Jagged Little Pill), during her Unplugged concert. These were later released as B-sides on the "King of Pain" single release. The first single, "That I Would Be Good", was moderately successful, and two other tracks, "King of Pain" (a cover of the song by The Police) and "You Learn" were released as singles outside North America. As of March 2012, the album has sold 673,000 copies in the U.S.

One of the “100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time,” Jim Breuer joined NBC’s Saturday Night Live in 1995. Since then he went on to star in several movies, tour the country with his Heavy Metal Man and Family Man comedy tours. You may remember Jim as the infamous Goat-Boy from SNL, or his stoner persona from the cult hit Half Baked. Now he’s clearing the air with this concert event.

Multi-talented singer/songwriter/musician Lenny Kravitz taped this Unplugged special for MTV in April of 1994. Kravitz performs material from his release Are You Gonna Go My Way and his previous album, Mama Said. Selections included "Are You Gonna Go My Way," "Let Love Rule," "Always on the Run" and "Believe." Lenny was supported by the Washington Temple Concert Choir.
