A Call From the Past

A film about the life and work of the Azerbaijani immigrant journalist and writer Mohammad Asad Bey, who emigrated to Germany after the collapse of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the beginning of the 20th century

The film tells the story of the life and work of the great Azerbaijani artist Sattar Bahlulzadeh. It depicts three periods of his life - childhood, youth, and old age.

After World War II, a group of young “robbers” redistributes the wealth of the rich to the poor while protecting the honor of women, especially the wives and sisters of soldiers at the front. Though branded outlaws by the law, their criminal yet benevolent deeds win the tacit approval of the local community.
