Tetsuo Asakura, the son of a bus company president, was planning to take it easy as he neared graduation from college, but due to a series of unexpected events, he ended up taking a part-time job at his father’s company. Working undercover as a trainee bus conductor at a ski resort, Tetsuo found that the locals weren’t always kind to him. Amidst this, only Hisako, who worked at a hot spring inn, treated him with warmth.

Set during the last days of the Tokugawa (Edo) Period, Moeyo-ken tells the story of Hijikata Toshizo and the Shinsengumi. Not considered real samurai by other dojo's, they receive a request for a duel by a rival dojo practicing the Kogen Itto style.
