A young woman is home alone, but she realizes there is a stranger in the house.

The film follows a school outside Atlanta that brings together refugee children from war-torn countries around the world with American children - examining how they learn and adapt to this complex social environment.

The creation of a handmade scarf serves as a journey through the highlands of Peru, following an Indigenous weaver from shearing and dyeing to weaving and selling. She does it all while cooking and caring for her children. Awana is a poignant testament to the underpaid and undervalued women who work in the region.
