Beyond the window of a car, a road unfolds. In the passenger seat, a young woman seems to be waiting for it to end. Beside her, the man sitting behind the wheel strives in vain to make this journey to nowhere last.

Alma wants to escape her Christmas family gathering. She hops into a ride-share heading for the North Sea, carrying a camcorder full of footage from her childhood. Memories begin to fill the roadside.

Charlyne pushes open the door of a bar to see “how others find ways to cope with their loneliness”. There, she meets Alain, Joufflu, Pascal and the others.
