Transfer Student on the 13th

VHS OVA in a moving manga style based on the works of horror comedy artist Yumeji Tanima. Contains 2 stories. 1 "初恋のゾンビ" 2 "墓地の秘密" In the first segment, Yuki, a young student, suffers an accident at school but is soon ressurected, however she fell in love with a spirit during her quick visit to the world of the dead. In the second segment, 3 close friends plan a courage test in a haunted graveyard, Ryoko who is afraid of cemeteries, Toshiko who doesn't believe in paranormal phenomena, and Masako who lives in a house inside a cemetery.

Contains eight tales: "Anger Grass", "The Hole of the Future", "Escape from the Aokigahara Forest", "The Returned Girl", "Beware, Margaret", "The Mysterious Tale of the Spider's Thread", "Grave Disease" and "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons"

Tokyo, formerly Edo, is depicted in ukiyo-e prints illustrating the seven mysteries of Honjo, including "Ashiarai-tei," a story of a girl who ventures into a haunted house to raise money for her mother's medicine and becomes prey to monsters. Historically in Japan, yokai haunted various places, including a man returning from Osaka who stayed in a terrifying inn called "Under the Ceiling," where he had a frightening night with monsters.
