Miami

Miguel and Alicia are a young retired couple. One day, Alicia goes to visit her mother-in-law at the nursing home. Hours go by and she does not return. Concerned, Miguel goes out to look for her, but finds her sitting on the sidewalk. What's wrong with her? What happened during this visit? Alicia does not answer. The following days Miguel tries to find out the reason for his wife's attitude, who remains quiet and still in the same position, while he tries to get everything back to normal.

Ficción

This is a movie about Uruguayans who want to make fiction films. We visited various filmmakers seeking to capture the enormous diversity of stories, realities, and sensibilities through the scripts they are writing. We get to know their neighborhoods and homes, and then we get closer to the ways in which each of them adapt the fantasies that have been born in their minds and hearts. In this way, we portray how they experience cinema and what would mean for them to make their film come true.

Mirando al Cielo

Ateneos is a community theater troupe. Its members work during the day and meet to rehearse at night. For the most part, they are people with a lot of sensitivity who found a way to express themselves there. The film explores the mechanisms that human beings have to deal with pain and continue to create despite everything.

Love Still

A 30 years old film director wants to make a documentary about love. His search leads him to a dance for the elderly in an old bar in Montevideo. In this dance he collects 11 stories of love, heartbreak, concrete and unsuccessful dreams, deception, violence and hope. How the future is expected in the final stage of life? Love still?

Sangre de Campeones

1924: a group of men, amateur footballers of diverse professions and humble origins, set out on a journey towards the greatest adventure of their lives. They depart from Uruguay for Europe to disembark in Paris in its "Crazy Years" where, against all odds, Olympic glory and the amazement of the whole world awaited them. This feat would be the first of others to come in 1928 and 1930.

El amor duerme en la calle

This documentary tells the story of people who, despite being homeless, are still looking for love. Cristina and Fabián live on the street. They met and what they felt was love at first sight. When their daughter was born, the baby was kept in the hospital because she had no home to take her to. Throughout the film, Cristina doesn't give up: we see her doubling her efforts to try to get her daughter back. Jonathan and Vanessa have been dating for years. Little by little, drugs have consumed their lives until they are left on the street. While they go through a spiral of aggression, they try to give up the addiction and give each other a second chance. Some time ago, Maria discovered that she has HIV. She decided not to tell Jonatan for fear that he would abandon her; when he found out about the disease, he decided to forgive her and continue their relationship. However, from that moment on, they both suffered conflicts and mistreatment.
