Annelise, a successful German painter, returns to the scene of the last happy summer of her childhood. She is welcomed by her childhood friend Péter and his family at their house on Lake Balaton. She hopes to find solace in the days spent with them, but instead finds a dysfunctional family. Between her old feelings for her friend, friction with his wife, and a candid encounter with their teenage daughter, Annelise searches for the answers she needs to move on.
