As Sung Min gets involved with a young, attractive mistress, he becomes estranged from his wife, and begins to dream of murdering her. Finally, he carries out his plan of murdering his wife. After doing that he is tormented with the phantom of his wife without knowing that she is alive. Meanwhile, Sung Min's wife, who barely saved her life, makes a plan for revenging herself on her husband.

Ha Kook-jin, a physician, meets Noh Ae-ri and his group who came to broadcast at the ski resort where he went with his wife's life. With this opportunity, Kook-jin appears on Ari's radio program, is attracted to being an open divorcee living with her daughter, and eventually confesses her relationship with Ari to her wife and turns back. After being shocked, Jang-sang finally realizes the willingness to go alone by traveling with his daughter In-ae, who is studying abroad.

When viewed in public, the Kim's seem to have the perfect marriage. In private, however, their married life is filled with turbulence, fighting, cheating, and accusations.

South Korea, 1998: While the country moves closer towards democracy, Young-oak remains at odds with his female-connotated name while attending a boy's school where the air is thick with testosterone. The young man is struggling to fit in and find a new name among corrupt teachers and the teenagers' violent power games, which are as subtle as they are extreme. She barely escapes being killed herself. The country is thrown in turmoil with the news of Jung Yong-wook's alleged suicide, and Park In-gyu urges Ji-won to keep quiet.

A broadcasting company hosts an actor/actress contest and 30 contestants are pre-selected. Yong-Woo and Eun-Sook are two of them and they are also lovers. Eun-Sook desperately wants to be a TV star and approaches a producer. Yong-Woo discovers this and argues with her. In the meantime, Eun-Sook happens to meet Yu-Suk and spends a night with him, after he tells her that he knows a lot about broadcasting companies.

John tries to overcome the civilization tragedy of this era by tracking the future of man, and Hyun-woo is young people who try to overcome it by tracking the human past. Between them, a woman, So-yeon, who symbolizes that only love is human salvation, intervenes and a love triangle is formed. One day, Yo-seob goes missing while flying a hang glider in Halla Mountain, and Hyun-woo and So-yeon form a family by raising Yo-seob's child, Darin. After four years, Hyun-woo and So-yeon leave for Jeju Island and reminisce about Yo-seob when they hear that Yo-seob may be alive. But Yo-seob was nowhere to be found. Hyun-woo and So-yeon head to the uninhabited island, which they considered to be an ideal island, listening to the hearing of the songs he enjoyed singing at Yo-seob's tomb. It is a movie that persistently traces the dreams, ideals, and the end of love of these three young people.

Tansil, a native of Hwajeongol in the back of Jirisan Mountain, goes to the house of President Woo Man-chan in Anguk-dong, Seoul, as introduced by his relative. President Woo, who had been away from home for a long time, returns and begins to approach Tansil, who was listening to the remnants of the disabled wife. The wife, who did not notice this, intentionally forces Tansil to take care of Woo in order to catch Woo, who returned. While the government watches everything and everyone, Myonggil and Pyongsok organize a movie club called The Magnificent Seven. Later in life, after Myonggil is released from military service, he goes to visit his childhood friend and finds out that their lives have taken very different paths.
