The Hands of Nara

After robbing a small suburban bank, a gang of outlaws led by Bill Kilgore hides out in the neighboring town of Red Rock. Failing to interest Carmen Harroway by his rough romantic attentions, Kilgore forbids the terrorized townspeople to patronize her small confectionery store. A stranger, Bob Vincent, appears in town and, after becoming friendly with Carmen, inexplicably joins Kilgore's gang, passing himself off as a forger.

A young man takes a trip to Europe, and when he returns home he brings along the woman he fell in love with and became engaged to. However, his snooty mother finds out that she doesn't come from a "good" family and is, in fact, a clerk in a shoe store, and refuses to sanction the engagement. The young man's uncle disagrees and tries to convince the mother to accept the young girl--but then begins to realize he is developing feelings for her himself.

Ally Appleby is a country boy headed for the college campus, courtesy of his Aunt Polly and Uncle Lish. They're financing his education providing that he stay away from sports. Before his train even arrives at its destination, he earns the enmity of senior Horatio Winston. Winston is determined to make Appleby into the college boob and his plan is working until pretty coed Angel Boothby reveals the plot.

After small-town attorney Deane Kendall wins an important case, a prestigious law firm lures him to the city. Accompanying him is his wife Edith, who retains her small-town ways, so does not fit into her husband's new social world. When adventuress Georgia Wilson meets the promising attorney, she falls in love and determines to break up his marriage. Georgia arranges for artist Charles Madison to lure Edith to his apartments and seduce her. Resisting his advances, Edith flees back to the innocent town of Harmony. Soon after, Kendall arrives, informed by Georgia that his wife is with Madison. However, the artist's mistress, who witnessed the incident, testifies to Edith's purity, and Kendall follows Edith back to their hometown, where they are reconciled.

Sergeant Richard Glenister of the Royal Mounted Police is rescued from a blizzard in the Canadian Northwest by Jack and Betty Danrock, a couple fleeing from the law. After Glenister recovers, he encounters them again at a trading post, where Betty denies knowing him to protect their identity.

Jack Standish feels responsible for the failure of the partnership with his father and goes to the South Seas where he falls prey to alcohol, is seduced by Lullaby Lou, a vamp, and tricked by a brutal plantation owner, Gordon Van Brock.

A woman's excessive spending brings difficulty to her family.

Bored with his daily routine, Breckenridge Gamble accepts a secret mission from some oil magnates to deliver a message to President Losada of the South American Republic of Centralia. Upon his arrival, Gamble learns from Angela, the president's daughter, that her father has been imprisoned by Cortez, the leader of the revolutionaries. Gamble also is imprisoned but frees all the prisoners as well as himself by impersonating the prison comandante. After forming an army, Gamble delivers the message--a large money draft sufficient to pay the army and secure President Losada's government--and is rewarded with Angela's love.

One day the two of them find themselves alone on a deserted island, and the attraction of Faversham and the married Audrey for each other is too difficult for them to resist. Complications ensue.

A husband goes through a trunk in an attic and finds a memento that reminds him of childhood sweetheart. The pair grow up and marry, facing tribulations. At the end, back in the present, she comes to the attic with their kids.

A crazed scientist needs primates to conduct experiments to prove his own theory of evolution, so he organizes an expedition into the jungles of Borneo to capture the animals he needs.
