A widowed watchmaker spends his remaining days in solitude distracting himself with chores and pastimes. Like a prisoner, alone in his cell, he looks for meaning in the memories of his past life, but the clock is ticking, and his life nears its end.

A young boy’s dream of becoming a doctor is challenged when war forces him and his mother to flee their village and start a new life in New York City.

A powerful dream inspires creation after it extinguishes the distracting facade of a monotonous reality.
